Twice the Fun!

March 17, 2009

So yesterday I was here in my studio editing photos for the Odaz’s online gallery and my sister Andi called me. You see before I met my love I lived in CA and Andi used to live around the corner and down the street from me…I saw her every day…literally…I flip’n adore her & I miss her so much, now she lives in San Jose, California…So anyway on with the story, so my phone rings and it’s Andi…we go through the hellos and all that and she says to me “Okay, Okay Sis I have something to tell you!” you know when you hear that you think it’s something bad & terrible…but no, she goes on with “I’m pregnant (long pause) with twins”…yes I typed right…TWINS!! Right now my head is up in the clouds and it’s not coming out for a while ;) My little sister is going to have two sweet, beautiful, wonderful, amazing babies! (her chances of having a baby were 50/50 to begin with and to have two…simply amazing!) My eyes are tearing up as I write this.

So of course there is a road trip for Kenny and I being planned to head out to California and visit my sister and my parents with cameras in tow…there will be lots of maternity photographs of my beautiful sister coming soon & and I absolutely cannot wait!(We haven’t been out there since 2006…that was the last time we saw my sister…way too long).

I could hear in Andi’s voice her excitement, overwhelming, anxious & happy tone…I just wanted to jump through the phone and give her the biggest hug…my hope for her and Beau is that the twins grow healthy, and Andi has a safe and healthy pregnancy without any complications.

Since I cannot post without a photo, here is one of Andi & I from the last time we visited.

Adeus for now!

A couple of months ago Bethany contacted me regarding her wedding. She met me here at the studio, and immediately we clicked. Bethany is by far the sweetest girl I have had the opportunity to meet and work with. We talked for over 2 hours about her and Dustin, how they met, how she missed him tremendously…Dustin couldn’t be here during most of the planning for their wedding, that’s because he works out of state taking down old saw mills with his dad, and during our meeting he was in Arkansas. He called a few times during my meeting with Bethany, and just by the way she talked with him on the phone, you could feel the love between the two of them. I met with Bethany and her coordinator a couple of weeks before the wedding, you could see the excitement in her eyes as we discussed the events of the day and walked around the church and the reception hall.

Finally this past Saturday, we shot Bethany & Dustin’s wedding. I showed up at the hair salon where Bethany was, and she of course was calm as ever…her eyes sparkled with the anticipation of what was to come. Ken met with Dustin over at the church and captured some moments while they were getting ready. The ceremony and the church were beautiful. After the ceremony ended Bethany, Dustin, Ken and I took a few shots at the church…every few minutes you would hear a whisper “I love you” …Bethany & Dustin’s love for each is obvious and it pours from them.

Once we arrived at the reception, we put together a great slide show of photos for their guests to view and watch as the celebration unfolded. Then once again all of us snuck off to capture some more photos of Bethany & Dustin. We had a great time out with them, and I can honestly say that the two of them are by far my favorite wedding couple. I have struggled picking a few of my favorites for the blog, because honestly I just love them all!! I managed to narrow them down though…somewhat :) This is by far the largest wedding sneak peek I have done yet!! So without further ado here is a look into Bethany & Dustin’s wedding day! Enjoy!!

Bethany & Dustin, thank you so much for allowing us to capture and share in your amazing day! When the two of you return from your trip, we will definitely go play some golf, count on it!!

With much love and appreciation…

A few weeks ago Vincent (the youngest brother of the Ordaz family) contacted me regarding a family portrait session with his siblings, and his Mom along with a few of his nieces and nephews.
They have been trying for a while to get everyone together for a portrait for his Mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day (7 kids and 21 grandchildren if I remember correctly…all of the grandchildren couldn’t be there). So we scheduled a session for last weekend, and Ken and I had the pleasure of shooting the Ordaz Family.
Let me tell you they were an absolute blast! The love this family has for each other is immense, and it poured from them that day. Every few minutes, I would hear one of them saying to all the others “I love you!” and then everyone in tune replying back I love you too! or I love you MORE! So sweet, so endearing, so much LOVE!

To the entire Ordaz clan, thank you for allowing Ken and I capture your family and your love for each other!

Here are few of some of our favorites from the shoot, we hope you enjoy them!

Adeus for now!
